Many of my clients started therapy after a
tipping point...
...a life transition, a new relationship, a loss.
Or just realizing they can’t keep doing what they’ve been doing.
They may not know exactly what they’re looking for,
but they’re ready for change and hope.

Some of the best friends I’ve ever had are the ones who really challenged me, not to hurt me, but out of genuine care. As a therapist, I believe it’s important to support and encourage growth, balancing empathy with challenge in a really effective way.
My Therapeutic Approach: What Our Work Together Will Feel Like

Comfortable, Connected
& Honest
Sometimes I have a hard time opening up to a new counselor, especially when I "didn't do my homework." Can I be real with you about what's going on for me?
Rapport is so important. I want my clients to feel comfortable having difficult conversations or sharing things they’ve never shared with anyone else, knowing I’ll challenge them without jeopardizing our connection. They know they can give me honest feedback, and I won’t get offended. They feel safe saying, "I didn’t do this, and here’s why." Sometimes, that honesty means confronting insecurities or fears, but it’s always welcome.
Down-to-Earth, Lighthearted, and Balanced
I have a busy schedule and sometimes therapy can feel like too much. How do you help people during weeks like this?
I’m animated, passionate, and sometimes a little goofy. My clients see that, and it helps them feel at ease. Therapy doesn’t have to be stiff or formal. It can be real, warm, and even fun. Not every session has to feel heavy. Sometimes, it’s important to have a decompressing session. We’ll always come back to the hard stuff, but I want therapy to feel balanced and comfortable, not overwhelming.

Insightful, Playful,
and Compassionate
My old therapist made me feel judged so I've been hesitant to start over with someone. How will working with you be different?
Humor is a big part of my work. When a client recognizes a pattern—like choosing emotionally unavailable partners—I don’t judge. I might raise an eyebrow, make a face, or ask, "Why do you think that is?" It’s about helping them see their own patterns, often with a bit of humor and a lot of compassion.
Professionally Informal
My previous therapist was helpful but sometimes it seemed disingenuous, like she was reading from a textbook. What's it like to work with you?
I just let myself be real, even interrupting myself to say, "Nevermind, that sounds too clinical. Here’s what I really mean." That's when my true voice and humor come through. That’s how I show up in therapy.

Creative, Relatable, and Practical
I've been to therapy before, and it seems like all we did was talk. How do you help people understand what's happening so it changes?
I love using stories and metaphors. For example, ignoring a bill because of financial stress doesn’t make it go away. It just comes back with more problems. Therapy is like that: facing what’s hard, so it doesn’t keep coming back.
Education, training, and experience
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Services Director at Heart Space Counseling Center. I received my first degree through Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in 2019. Through nearly eight years of clinical work with a variety of clients--including court-ordered clients and people with severe mental illness--I have developed a strong and dedicated skillset in working with a vast array of clients from a place of compassion, empathy, and genuine caring in order to assist individuals in overcoming life's greatest challenges.
