Whether you’ve always known or are just beginning to wonder, this page is for you.

What Does ADHD Look Like?

ADHD doesn’t always mean bouncing off the walls. Especially in adults, it can look like:

  • Constant overwhelm and burnout

  • Difficulty focusing or finishing tasks

  • Starting a million things but completing few

  • Forgetting appointments, names, or where you left your keys

  • Hyperfocus on certain things and zoning out on others

  • Disorganization (mentally, emotionally, and physically)

  • Emotional intensity or sensitivity to criticism

  • Chronic lateness, procrastination, or impulsivity

ADHD in women and high-functioning adults is especially underdiagnosed. It often gets mislabeled as anxiety, depression, moodiness, or irresponsibility. You’ve probably been called “too much” or “not enough” your whole life. We’re here to help you rewrite that story.

ADHD in Childhood and School Experiences

Many clients look back and realize the signs were there all along:

  • Report cards saying "bright but not applying themselves"

  • Feeling bored, restless, or lost in school

  • Struggling to meet deadlines or follow routines

  • Teachers saying you were disruptive or daydreamy

  • A deep sense of shame that you had to work twice as hard to do what others found easy

If school felt like a battlefield, or if your inner world was never understood, therapy can help unpack those wounds and finally bring compassion to your past.

Being Diagnosed With ADHD as an Adult

Maybe you always suspected it. Maybe someone suggested it recently. Or maybe you're just realizing that all your struggles with focus, emotional regulation, impulsivity, or productivity are part of a larger pattern.

Getting diagnosed as an adult can be both validating and overwhelming. Therapy can help you:

  • Make sense of your history

  • Unlearn internalized shame and judgment

  • Build practical tools for work, relationships, and daily life

  • Develop new strategies that match your unique brain

You’re not behind. You’ve just been trying to succeed in a world built for neurotypical people. We’ll help you find a way forward that’s actually yours.

ADHD and Relationships

ADHD impacts more than to-do lists; it affects connection. You or your partner might:

  • Feel frustrated by missed details, forgetfulness, or dropped commitments

  • Struggle with emotional intensity, defensiveness, or rejection sensitivity

  • Get into cycles of conflict, resentment, or shut-down

  • Feel like you’re walking on eggshells, or like your needs are always too much

We offer ADHD-informed couples counseling to help both partners understand the role ADHD plays in their dynamics. We support the relationship, not just the diagnosis, because with empathy, tools, and clarity, it’s possible to rebuild trust and connection.

Rejection Sensitivity and Emotional Dysregulation

One of the hardest parts of ADHD is feeling misunderstood. You may:

  • Take things personally, even when you know you shouldn’t

  • Replay negative feedback or perceived criticism for days

  • Feel emotionally overwhelmed or volatile

  • Try to do everything right to avoid disappointing others

This is called Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), and it’s real. It’s not a character flaw. It’s part of how ADHD shapes the brain’s emotional responses. And in therapy, we help you regulate those emotions, understand their origins, and respond with more self-trust and resilience.

Is Medication Necessary?

Not always, but for some, it helps immensely. Therapy is essential, whether or not you take medication. We help clients explore the full spectrum of support for ADHD:

  • Medication consultations and referrals when appropriate

  • Behavioral strategies and life organization tools

  • Emotional regulation and nervous system work

  • Support for navigating daily life with confidence and clarity

If meds feel scary or stigmatized, we’ll talk through it together. You’ll never be pushed—we simply support your informed choices.

Our Integrative Approach to ADHD Therapy

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Our work is tailored to your brain, your history, your values, and your goals. We blend:

  • Depth therapy to explore self-esteem and identity

  • Coaching tools for task management and follow-through

  • Relationship therapy to support ADHD-impacted couples

  • Somatic and mindfulness tools to regulate overwhelm

  • Psychoeducation so you understand why your brain works the way it does

We work with teens, college students, working professionals, parents, and creatives...anyone ready to break the shame spiral and build something better.

Start Feeling Like You’re Not Failing at Life.

You are not scattered, flaky, or broken. Your brain just processes the world differently—and therapy can help you finally make peace with that.
